Salad with brussels sprouts, apples and nuts
When it comes to salads, it's pretty hard to find one that I really like. Didn't you get bored of the same classic recipes with lettuce, vegetable mix and a dressing thrown in the bowl? Sometimes I feel the need for something more interesting, with a special taste. Are you tempted by a salad with brussels sprouts, apples and nuts?
This salad with brussels sprouts, apples and nuts is a perfect combination of sweet, salty, sour and crunchy. You say I described the PowerPuff Girls: "sweet, sour and something charming". Ha, Ha, Ha!
Joke aside, I can tell you that it is a filling, fresh salad and it is ready in a few minutes. And you know what? It can also be served as a garnish next to a piece of simple cooked meat (chicken, pork or even beef).
This time I ate it so, simple, I liked it surprisingly long, and all the ingredients fit perfectly.

INGREDIENTS (for 2 servings)
1 cup half fresh brussels sprouts (not frozen)
Sano Vita cranberries
1-2 apples (golden, red or green)
un pumn de miez de nucă
2-3 linguri de parmezan ras (dacă ești vegan sau ții post nu adăuga și parmezan)
*Cantitățiile ingredientelor rămân la alegerea voastră, în funcție de cât de multă salată vreți să faceți
Pentru dressing: sucul de la 1 lămâie, 4 linguri de ulei de măsline, 1 linguriță de miere, 1 lingură de oțet balsamic, sare, piper (după gust). Opțional: 1 linguriță de muștar.
Spală varza de bruxelles și merele sub un jet de apă. Dă varza de bruxelles pe cuțitul lat a unei răzătoare și pune-o într-un bol. Taie merele în bucăți/felii potrivite și pune-le în bol peste varza de bruxelles.
Dacă vrei, poți să tai și nucile cu cuțitul în bucățele mici sau poți să le lași întregi. Pune nucile și merișoarele în același bol.
Cum faci dressing-ul?
Pune într-un borcan mic sucul de la o lămâie, 4 linguri de ulei de măsline, 1 linguriță de miere, 1 lingură de oțet balsamic, sare, piper (după gust). Pune capacul borcanului și agită toată compoziția câteva secunde. Dacă dorești poți să pui ingredientele într-un bol mai mic și să le amesteci cu o furculiță.
Prefer să fac dressing-ul într-un borcan pentru că asa pot să agit mai bine toată compoziția. De asemenea, de multe ori se întâmplă să fac o cantitate mai mare, așa că un borcan este perfect pentru că pot să-l pun în frigider și să folosesc restul dressing-ului și la alte salate.
Toarnă dressing-ul peste toate ingredientele din bol și amestecă bine cu o lingură. Servește cu puțin parmezan ras deasupra.
- 750 g varza de Bruxelles
- 100 g cascaval ras
- 150 g mozarella
- 4-5 linguri de parmezan ras
- 3-4 tablespoons of olive oil
Curatam varzutele de frunzele exterioare (raman 550 g),le taiem cotorul si le fierbem in apa cu o lingura de sare in jur de 15 minute.
Le scurgem de apa si le asezam intr-o tava unsa cu ulei de masline.Disribuim mozzarella taiata bucati.
Presaram cascavalul ras ,parmezanul ,sare si piper.
Punem la cuptor in jur de 20 de minute la 180°C.Servim calde,sunt delicioase.

Retete delicioase cu varza de Bruxelles
Varza de Bruxelles (Brassica Oleracea Gemmifera) este o planta bienala, din aceeasi familie cu varza, conopida si broccoli. Este originara, dupa unii autori, din nordul Europei, fiind cultivata inainte de anul 1200 pe teritoriul de azi al Belgiei. Dupa altii, ea provine din nordul Italiei, facandu-se referiri la faptul ca era una dintre delicatesele Romei antice.

Prima referire scrisa dateaza din anul 1587. In decursul secolului al XVI-lea a avut o popularitate deosebita in Belgia si Olanda, de unde s-a extins in tarile vecine cu clima temperata. In America au dus-o francezii care s-au stabilit in Louisiana. In conditiile de delta gasite aici, acestia au dezvoltat o varietate cu diametrul de 5-6 cm., preferata si azi de americani, in timp ce, in Europa, varza de Bruxelles nu depaseste 4-5 cm.
Bogata in potasiu, sulf, fier, mangan, crom, calciu si vitamine – A, B si C -, varza de Bruxelles are un efect extraordinar asupra pancreasului, de imbunatatire a secretiei de insulina, iar, datorita continutului de mangan, crom si a celorlalte minerale, ocupa un loc insemnat in vindecarea diabetului.
Se poate consuma cruda, in salate sau gratinata, sotata in unt sau fiarta si servita cu smantana sau sosuri albe, in preparate cu carne sau alte legume.
Iata cateva retete pe baza de varza de Bruxelles:
ingredients (6 portii-90’):
50g.unt, 400g.varza de Bruxelles, 1 fir de praz, 1 telina mica, 1 cartof, 2l. supa de carne (pasare sau vita), 250ml. lapte, 4 oua, 100ml. smanatana,
10g. nucsoara macinata, sare, piper
Method of preparation:
1.Se iau 6 verzisoare si se fierb in apa clocotita cu sare timp de 10 minute. Se scot si se racesc sub jet de apa rece ca sa nu se inmoaie. Se vor folosi pentru ornat.
2. Se topeste untul intr-o cratita mai inalta, se adauga prazul taiat fin, telina taiata felii de 5 mm. grosime si restul de varza de Bruxelles. Se soteaza 5-6 minute fara sa se rumeneasca. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Se adauga cartoful taiat felii, supa de carne, laptele si 2 cani cu apa si se fierb toate ingredientele timp de 45 minute, pana ce verzele sunt foarte moi.
3. Se scot legumele din cratita, se pun in blender pentru a se obtine un pireu fin. Se pune pireul inapoi in cratita. Separat, se amesteca smantana cu galbenusurile si se incorporeaza in pireul de legume. Se pune cratita pe foc si se lasa sa clocoteasca cca. 3 minute. Se adauga si verzele fierte separate ca sa se incalzeasca si se serveste imediat.
SUFLE DE VARZA DE BRUXELLES
ingredients (4 portii-40‘):
400g. varza de Bruxelles, 2 rosii potrivit de mari, 1 ceapa, 50ml. ulei, 1 cubulet supa de vita, 200g. branza telemea(vaca sau oaie), nucsoara, boia iute, sare, piper
Method of preparation:
1. Intr-un vas de Yena, se pune varza de Bruxelles, se acopera cu apa si se adauga sare, piper si nucsoara. Se acopera vasul si se pune pentru 10 minute in cuptorul cu microunde. Se pastreaza o cana cu supa de varza.
2. Se oparesc rosiile, se curata de pielite si se taie cubulete. Se toaca ceapa. Intr- o tigaie se prepara sosul: se caleste in ulei ceapa 4 minute, la foc mic, apoi se adauga rosiile si se calesc pana se inmoaie bine. Separat, intr-un castronel, se amesteca 1 cana de apa cu cubuletul de supa si 1 cana supa de pe varza. Se lasa sa dea in clocot 1-2 minute, se adauga varza de Bruxelles si se mai fierbe 5 minute. Se potriveste de sare, piper, boia iute si nucsoara. Se rastoarna totul in vasul de Yena, se rade deasupra branza telemea si se coace la cuptor, la foc mediu, 20 minute si branza capata o tenta maronie.
VARZA DE BRUXELLES GLAZURATA
ingredients (4 portii-30’):
800g.varza de Bruxelles, 150ml. vin rosu sec, 3 linguri miere, 2 linguri sos de soia, 2 linguri amidon
Method of preparation:
1. Se taie cozile langa cotor si apoi se cresteaza varza la baza in cruce, cu 2 taieturi de 5 mm. adancime.
2. Se amesteca intr-un bol vinul, mierea si sosul de soia. Se pune amestecul intr-o cratita, se da in clocot, se adauga o cana cu apa si varza de Bruxelles si se fierbe acoperit 15 minute, la foc mic, amestecand mereu. Se ia capacul si se continua fierberea inca 10 minute.
3. Se dizolva amidonul in putina apa si se adauga amestecului de varza, amestecand incontinuu, pana ce sosul se ingroasa, cca. 5 minutes. Serve immediately.
VARZA DE BRUXELLES CALITA
ingredients (6 portii-30’):
700g. varza de Bruxelles, 100g.unt, 1 lamaie verde, sare, piper alb
Method of preparation:
1. Se taie fiecare varza in doua, apoi se taie fideluta fiecare jumatate.
2. Intr-o tigaie adanca se topeste untul la foc mare si se adauga varza tocata. Se condimenteaza cu sare si piper alb. Se caleste cca. 5 minute pana capata o culoare maronie. Se adauga 2 linguri de apa, se reduce focul si se continua sotarea inca 4 minute pana cand varza este moale. Se ia de pe foc, se rade lamaia si se adauga impreuna cu sucul de lamaie, amestecand. Serve immediately.
VARZA DE BRUXELLES CU ALUNE SI PORTOCALE
450g.varza de Bruxelles, 75ml. ulei de masline, 1 ceapa, 2 linguri mustar de Dijon, 200ml. supa de pui, 150ml. suc de portocale, 50g. alune de padure,
1 portocala, 100g. stafide albe, ½ lingurita cimbru sau oregano, sare, piper
Method of preparation:
Se fierbe varza de Bruxelles in apa cu sare timp de 3 minute, din momentul in care apa da in clocot. Se scot verzele si se pun intr-o strecuratoare de plastic si apoi sub jet de apa rece.
2. Se pun stafidele in sucul de portocala ca sa se inmoaie.
3. Se toaca ceapa marunt si se caleste, la foc mic, pana se caramelizeaza (10 minute).
4. Se dizolva mustarul in jumatate din supa si se adauga peste ceapa, se potriveste de sare si piper si se mai fierbe 3 minute amestecand. Se adauga varza si sucul de portocale si se continua fierberea 15 minute pana cand varza este moale. Daca, in timpul fierberii, scade prea tare, se adauga si restul de supa.
5. Se desface portocala in bucati si se pune peste varza. Se adauga si alunele, cimbrul si stafidele si se ia de pe foc. Optional, sosul se poate ingrosa cu o lingurita de amidon dizolvat in putina supa si se pot adauga bucatele de pui fiert.
PUI CU VARZA DE BRUXELLES
ingredients (4 portii-45’):
1kg. carne de pui, 100g.unt, 1,5kg. varza de Bruxelles, 100g.cascaval, 50g.faina, 50ml. lapte, 200g.smanatana, 25g. suc de rosii, unt pentru uns forma si pentru graten, sare, piper
Method of preparation:
1. Puiul se spala, se taie bucati, se sareaza si pipereaza si se frige in jumatate din cantitatea de unt.
2. In untul ramas se caleste faina, se stinge cu laptele amestecat cu smantana si sucul de rosii, se adauga carnea prajita si se fierb cca. 20 minute.
2. Varza de Bruxelles se fierbe in apa cu sare 20 minute, se scurge bine si se aseaza intr-un vas de Yena, uns cu unt. Se presara peste varza cascavalul ras, se pun bucati de unt si se gratineaza la cuptor pana capata o tenta maronie.
3. Carnea de pui prajita se serveste cu varza de Bruxelles gratinata, peste care se pun 2-3 linguri de sos.
